About Us

Kate Kroeger founded The Confidence Company through a simple desire to help others realise their potential. Her teaching experience began at the age of 10 when she would round up the local kids to play schools in the family home with Kate playing teacher every time! This curiosity to teach others saw her tackle coaching of other students whilst still in high school herself and her fascination of public speaking blossomed as she was selected as the Lions Club Youth of the Year in 1997.

Kate fulfilled a life-long dream of studying abroad and did so in Canada during her final year of university. Most graduate teachers find themselves in front of their own grade in their first year out of university but Kate found herself as a sessional lecturer at Victoria University.

She went on to teach at local schools in Geelong and then the temptation to teach and travel lead her to the UK. Upon her return she taught in local primary and secondary schools and then called the Werribee Open Range Zoo her ‘office’ where she taught and held the role of presentation trainer for the zoo keepers and safari guides. The zoo was where she met her zoo keeper husband and she decided it was time to let him continue to work with the animals as she pursued her love of teaching and presentation training and moved to Ambulance Victoria as the Community Education Manager. Somehow she managed to squeeze in consultancy work for 7 consecutive years with Athletics Australia delivering a mentoring program which brought Olympians together with rising athletes through a series of workshops and team building activities. A successful motivator, public speaker, facilitator, coach, manager and experienced teacher she has a relaxed yet intuitive approach and connects with all. Kate is readily called upon to emcee events at local sporting functions, community trivia nights, weddings and drew upon all of her experiences when she was a judge in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

Kate has over 10 years experience as a teacher, over 8 years experience as a public speaking coach and facilitator and over 5 years as a manager. Kate is a Victorian Institute of Teaching registered teacher and also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
